Synopsis:
| Smallish imperforate lobes, similar to H. metaphysodes but lobes more imbricate, browner tips, medulla K+ slow reddish brown, KC+ orange red.

Other Diagnostics: | Appears like a rather loosely appressed H. metaphysodes but with imbricate to somewhat separate lobes that are often browned at the tips. Always contains 3-hydroxyphysodic acid and always has brown to dark brown cavity.
